One of the world best loved musicals Oliver the musical has been a staple of the theatre world since 1960. Having gone through several revivals the show has achieved huge success, recently ending a two year run in London it has been seen by millions of people across the globe.

Adapted from the Charles Dickens book Oliver the musical tells the tale of the young orphan Oliver as he is sold from the workhouse, makes his escape and runs into Fagin and his team of pickpockets, including the Artful Dodger. In the dark streets of London Oliver meets a host of characters including the kindly Nancy and the ferocious Bill Sykes. Arrested and sent to live with Mr. Brownlow Oliver cannot escape the clutches of Fagin and is soon brought back into the underworld and witness to heinous crimes.

Oliver the musical features music and lyrics by Lionel Bart and was made into an award winning film in 1968. The show features an array of fabulous songs including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You've Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah, As Long As He Needs Me.

Oliver the musical will appear at the Palace Theatre in Manchester from the 25th Jan to the 10th March 2012. Neil Morrissey will play the role of Fagin. Cast members cannot be guaranteed for every performance.
