Discover the stage adaptation of the fantastic Disney’s The Lion King and be transported by the moving rhythms of Africa to the Serengeti Plains. The Lion King, Manchester is a hit with the whole family and has been seen by over 65 million people worldwide and is heading to Manchester’s Palace Theatre in December 2012.
The Lion King, Manchester follows the story of lion Prince Simba and his epic journey to become King of the Pride Land. After Simba’s birth to King Mufasa and his Queen Sarabi his evil uncle Scar hatches a plan to kill Simba and Mufasa and proclaim himself as king. Scar tricks Mufasa into thinking that Simba is in grave danger and leads him directly into the path of a stampede of wildebeests. Believing he is to blame Simba flees the kingdom leaving Scar to reign over the Pride Land. As Simba grows up he must decide if he will return to the kingdom which has almost been destroyed.
Featuring award-winning music, incredible costumes and stunning scenery The Lion King, Manchester includes hit songs from the film including the phenomenal “Circle Of Life” and the uplifting “Hakuna Matata”.
This wonderful show is complete with giant giraffes and antelopes and many more animals brought to life by striking puppets and special effects.
The Lion King is recommended for ages 6 and above.
