Michael Ball, one of Britain's leading musical stars, is 'spectacular' (Daily Telegraph) as he undergoes a major transformation to play Tracy's larger than life mother Edna, and has been awarded Best Actor in a Musical for the role in the 2008 Olivier Awards.
Leanne Jones, 'in an astonishingly accomplished stage debut' (Evening Standard) has won the 2008 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical in the role of Tracy. 'Musical star' (Sunday Times) Ben James-Ellis, who first shot to fame on the reality TV show Any Dream Will Do, plays heart-throb Link Larkin.
Please note: The role of Edna Turnblad will be played by Adam Price on Monday evening performances.
Michael Ball will be on holiday from 20th December until the 5th January 2008. He will return on the 6th January. He will also be on holiday from the 9th March until the 16th March 2009 returning on the 17th March.
The performance on the 14th November will commence at 7pm.
Venue Directions: Take the Northern or Central Line to Tottenham Court road and exit onto New Oxford street. The theatre is approximately 10 minutes walk.
