How to book Macbeth

The renowned Scottish play Macbeth Stratford is Shakespeare’s famed last tragedy. A story of murder & greed Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s most iconic productions.

Set in Medieval Scotland Macbeth Stratford tells of King Duncan and his army at war, victorious Macbeth a general in the Kings army leaves the battlefield and hears his prophecy from three witches. The witches declare that he will be Thane of Cawdor and eventually king. King Duncan’s men arrive to tell Macbeth he has been made Thane of Cawdor and the first part of the prophecy is fulfilled.

Writing to his wife Lady Macbeth, Macbeth tells of the prophecy. Fuelled by greed and ambition the two connive to kill King Duncan as his visits their castle in Inverness. Murder after murder follows as blood flows from Macbeth’s hands. Set about securing his future as King Macbeth kills all who stand in his way. Haunted by his actions Macbeth revisits the witches and is told to beware of McDuff. Macbeth Stratford culminates in a battle between Macbeth and McDuff leading to Macbeth’s demise.

Macbeth Stratford has drawn an accolade of famed names to the roles of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Patrick Stewart, Ian Mckellan and Laurence Olivier have all portrayed Macbeth while Dame Judy Dench, Helen Mirran and Vivian Leigh have taken on the dark role of Lady Macbeth.

Michael Boyd the artistic director for the Royal Shakespeare Company directs the first new production of Macbeth Stratford in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Following his acclaimed performances as Richard II and Richard III Jonathan Slinger will play Macbeth.
