Richard III is part of the Nations at War series of the World Shakespeare Festival. Directed by the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Associate Director Roxana Silbert Richard III is a dark play of one mans greed to rule the throne.

Determined to reign as King, Richard the Duke of Gloucester will stop at nothing to get his hearts desire. Killing off his enemies, family members and loved ones he is driven by his evil intent. Seizing the Crown he continues to slander his family and does everything in his power to keep his position before his inevitable demise at the Battle of Bosworth.

The company of actors who appear in Richard III also appear in another play in the Nations at War series, A Soldier in Every Sun – An Aztec Trilogy, commissioned for the World Shakespeare Festival.

Richard III will play at the Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon from the 22nd March to the 15th September 2012
